Hi Mitch,

I have been meaning to email you and give you an update on Chino. As you can see from the pictures that he lives vey well and is very loved. He just had a birthday november 30 and is eight years old. I hope he lives another eight..Just dreaming. I’m not sure how I will ever live without that guy. He has been an incrediable dog! His health is good just a little overweight I’m sorry to say.

I just need to tell you that Chino has been the greatest breed of dog I have ever owed. I have had many breeds in my life and I will never have another breed but a Cane Corso. Chino has been my shadow all these years and is my close companion. I have to go into bad neighborhoods at night sometimes and Chino always go with me and no one ever comes close to me or my car. He definatly protects me and has my back at all times.

I was really excited to see the Cane Corso on the AKC dog show. That was awesome sight and hopefully will win at some point.

Hope all is well with you and your family. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Dear Mitch,

Thanks for asking about Shrek. He’s doing great. I got him registered, but I ended up neutering him because of Albuquerque city regulations where only breeders can have intact dogs. We moved to Birmingham, Alabama last year, I’m doing a two year fellowship here at the Children’s hospital. He grew into a beautiful dog, very healthy and well behaved. He’s super easy to teach, but I haven’t gone beyond the basics that I need everyday. He does sit, down, stay, heel, come, wait, roll over, shake and high five like clock-work, and could do anything if I took the time to teach him more. But mostly we just go out for walks and hikes every day and have a good time. He’s very watchful around the house, and barks if he hears anything, but I don’t think he would really hurt anybody. He’s an awesome dog, and I thank you very much for him.

Best regards,
Lena

Mitch-
Just wanted to let you know how happy Mia has been with us. She has learned very fast all basic commands and even tells me when she has to go outside to potty. She is very protective of the kids and alerts us always to strange noises outside and is just the best dog we have ever had. I have had many people ask me about the dog and the breed I always tell them about you and where we got her. She loves to be by us all the time no matter what we are doing everything from going for car rides to working out side on the house. She has never ran away not even tried and if she get to far away I just yell her name she come right back. Her favorite activities are going to the park and playing fetch. She can play for ever before getting tired. The only down side to her is the snoring. Its so funny everyine always says what is that snoring! We say of thats just Mai. She is definetly a dominet dog tries to rule the house with my wife but subdues to me and the kids. She doesnt give other dogs any attention wich is very diffrent she just walks right by and doesnt even lok at them or bark or smell. We were at the park this summer and she was going down the slides with the kids. Even sledding with them this winter and carring their sleds back up the hills. She is just a wonderful dog we could not be happier! One more thing that makes her very original is when your sitting on the couch or somehting she comes right over and puts both hands on you and wants a hug.

Hello Mitch,

Happy Friday to you & all the dogs! It’s nice to hear from you. As for our gal Legend….she’s certainly a “trip”. She is or should i say Cane Corso’s are in a class of there own. I’ve never come across a breed like this one. A couple of thing’s i can say is that she is so loyal to me & my family. She has a extremely strong personality in a great way. She completed her obedience class several of weeks ago which was a 9 week coarse. She is in tune with us especially me. I think she knows I’m the alpha in this family. I regularly take her & our Boston Terrier together to the dog park which is like a mini football field to get her full on exercise. She gets all excited on the way to the dog park. As for her social skills well she isn’t the type to engage into a fight unless she’s protecting herself, our other dogs or my family & I so I’m please with that. She’s friendly with other dogs & people for the most part. She’s highly intelligent & sizes her surrounding, people, noises, other animals & all that is around her as i said intelligent! It’s kinda funny…those who are not aware of her breed automatically ask “How old is your pit bull?”. I insistently correct them with the correct info of her breed & they are taken or blown away by her strong features. Some have even said she looks scary like a pit bull due to her exotic greenish hazel eyes, ears, size, quickness, & other features. So far at the dog park we go to I’ve seen & talked with the owners of about 4-5 other Cane Corso’s…colors of black (CA), fawn (TX), buff (CA) & i believe a light tan (?) one. All are taken with Legends blue brindle color. Legends face is still blue with blue within her body & very noticeable brindle in her body which i have been told she looks like a exotic tiger. She will be 1 year old this coming Monday 9/20/10 & i think she weighs about 75-85lbs. I haven’t weigh her in about two months or so & she was about 65lbs then. Can still see her ribs so i feel we’re doing a great job maintaining her weight. She’s gotten pretty tall & long too. I know you probably wouldn’t agree with this although my wife & i enjoy her sleeping with us on our California King Size bed which comes in handy. She loves to snuggle with us between us & moves at the end of our bed then lays on our feet…remember she’s long, LOL! Sometimes i wished we would gotten another one or one of her brothers or sisters to raise with her. I want to really embrace her & enjoy her. We are so very please with our gal Legend! I rave to people of you & your love for this breed & if they are interested I’ll even direct them to your website or contact. I always remember when you told me this breed is normally quite & i laugh….maybe in an area of quietness cause legend sure make sure you hear her although that OK. She’s like the female Tarzan of the jungle & wants to be heard. Funny huh? I will send you more pics of her…feel free to use them on your website or on your Face book site. I know i replied here kinda long although i wanted to answer your question plus add to it with her progress in becoming a year old.

Have a very nice weekend Mitch & feel free to email or call me whenever.

Take care of yourself

I have had many animals over my 30 yrs but Cupid himself struck me with his arrow when my beloved Cane Corso, Carlo was added to my four legged family. I drove half way across the USA from Texas to basically the border of Canada in the far reaches of Minnesota to pick him up and from the moment we met it was love at first sight. The entire car ride home he stuck his head in between the passenger side chair and window and laid his head in the palm of my hand and slept there. As intimidating as he may appear he is the most gentlest, loving and loyal dog I have ever had the pleasure of calling my own. He is the ultimate guardian of my castle, no need to waste money on a home security system he’s my very own personal security guard. I have lived in some pretty tough cities over the years and my father said he never had to worry about me with Carlo by my side. His best friend aside from myself is my 12 lb cat Leni, they nap together, play together and eat side by side. I can feel the love he has for me and my family the minute I walk in the door. Hands down best dog I have ever had. Wouldn’t trade him for the world…Money well spent!

I will confess I am not a dog lover, but after owning Beasty, I have to confess, I just fell in love with the Cane Corso; back in 2000, after my husband and I had purchased our first home we decided to get a dog, strong enough to protect but mellow and playful for our two boys and Mini Pinscher dog. We did a lot of homework and research looking for the best dog that there could be. That is how we came across Kennel Byonics; when we read about the history of the breed and the description of how the Romans used these dogs fascinated us, so we decided to get a puppy from Mitch. Being pregnant at the time, expecting my third child, it was a difficult decision for me to make. I’ll tell you now, nine years later, getting Beasty was the best choice of our lives. Beasty quickly became our family dog, strong, protective, smart and sensitive. She was supposed to be my husband’s dog and she ended up being my best friend. She was intuitive, very smart and got along with all dogs but fierceful enough to scare the bad guys, when she passed away last December, we felt naked, unprotected. We have ordered our second puppy from Mitch at Kennel Byonics which we expect to get sometime this year.

It’s been a little over seven months since we got Jango back from you and we just want to let you know that Jango has been great! I remember how close we were to giving up on him and that would have been the worst decision we would have made. You gave us hope after watching the progress you had with him during his training and we just needed the right tools to get the job done and you showed us that. Jango has been nothing but loving and respectful to both of us. Niveen has faced all her fears of him and kept the promise that she would take charge during their morning walks. Jango now knows his place in the house and still listens to all the commands that you taught him. Jango’s walks on the leash are so much better now and when he is off leash he is much improved, but there is still work that needs to be done with that. The aggression is pretty much gone except for a few incidents and when they arose we were able to call you and get your advice on how to fix the problem and if you notice we haven’t called for a long time. Every now and then he will try to test us but we always stand firm and never let him win the battle. We just want to thank you for all of your hard work with Jango and we really appreciate everything that you have done and taught us to have a happy and balanced dog. Thanks Mitch.
